Following is a statement by Norman Eisen, executive chair at Democracy Defenders Fund, Juan Proaño,  chief executive officer, and Danielle Lang, vice president of voting rights & rule of law at Campaign Legal Center, in response to a White House executive order that would interfere in elections by creating federal lists of citizens and requiring the postal service to send ballots only to those on the lists:

"We and our coalition defeated President Trump's last illegal anti-voter executive order in court and we will defeat this unlawful and incoherent one, too. We are drafting the lawsuit right now. The Constitution gives authority over elections to the states and Congress. The president does not have the power he is claiming. We will see him in court."
