"Today’s filing for a preliminary injunction against the Executive Office of the President and its federal agencies aims to protect Mr. Zaid’s livelihood and seeks to reinstate his security clearance that was unlawfully revoked for what the Administration admitted was political reasons,” said the attorneys for Mark Zaid. “This retaliatory and hostile action is another attack on lawyers doing their jobs and not only impacts Mr. Zaid, but every citizen who seeks nothing more than to exercise bedrock constitutional rights. We look forward to proving that to the Court and helping to reinstate Mr. Zaid’s security clearance immediately.”

Mr. Zaid was one of 15 individuals named in a March 22 presidential memorandum ordering the immediate revocation of their security clearances. The lawsuit, filed earlier this month, alleges that the order violates the Administrative Procedure Act, the Fifth Amendment’s guarantee of due process, and the First Amendment rights of both attorneys and their clients.
